AMERICAN RESTLESS
American Restless channels post-hardcore grit and riff-heavy classic rock into what they call “Rust Belt Rock and Roll.” Hailing from Racine, WI, a crossroads for Chicago blues, Milwaukee metal, and Midwestern emo/hardcore, the trio blends these influences into what has been described as “Deep Purple garage rock.”
Guitarist Noah Lekas and bassist Ian Grant join drummer Arjuna “RJ” Contreras on their debut Rust Belt Rock and Roll, a LP that combines the anti-nostalgia of punk with heavy psych fuzz and post-war blues. Earning praise for their bold sound, American Restless possesses the “’70s blues guitar rock energy of Humble Pie, Free, and Rory Gallagher” (Glide Magazine), with a “Short, Biting and Raucous” style (All Music Magazine).
Notably, UFC fighter Gerald “GM3” Meerschaert walked out to an early demo of “Cadillac Head” in 2021—officially igniting the band’s raw, anti-nostalgic charge into the rock landscape.
