Lee Wilder
Before stepping into his own as Lee Wilder, the San Diego native was known by his given name and fronted The Paragraphs. Cutting his teeth on sweat-soaked stages, Wilder honed a sound equal parts soul confession and rock n roll howl.
As a solo artist, Wilder emerged with Sound Emporium. Think gospel-flecked Americana colliding with the grit of ’90s grunge. “Across 10 tracks, Wilder churns out addictive and compelling rock that suggest a college radio station 30 years ago that would follow up The Replacement’s ‘Alex Chilton’ with King Missile’s ‘Detachable Penis’ and then throw on a record by Los Lobos” (Glide Magazine).
His songs breathe with live-wire urgency—many lyrics caught in first or second takes like lightning in a jar. Wilder sees his music as a sonic and lyrical experience that embraces letting go of toxic and trivial thoughts, favoring instead a conscious, participatory existence.
