Puerto is back.

After six years, songwriter Zachary Polletta returns with Puerto, his San Diego-based surf-rock project, for Quit Dreaming / Holding On To The Mundane, a new limited 7-inch that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. Still rooted in Puerto's signature blend of surf rock and indie pop, these songs look a little closer to home, finding beauty in the neighborhoods, people, and everyday moments that make Southern California what it is.

Pressed on limited-edition Laguna Blue vinyl, this release is presented as a same-side double single, with both songs featured together on Side A—an intentional nod to classic jukebox singles and a listening experience designed to be played from start to finish.

Opening with "Quit Dreaming," the record rolls in with an infectious groove, shimmering guitars, and a standout guest appearance from guitarist Matt Beers. Inspired by growing up in San Diego, the song reflects on the idea of the California dream and what happens when too many people chase the same version of it.

Flowing directly into "Holding On To The Mundane," Puerto settles back into the warm melodies and laid-back rhythms that have become the band's signature. Together, the two songs balance each other perfectly—one questioning the pursuit of something bigger, the other reminding us that the best parts of life are often right in front of us.

The accompanying music video for "Quit Dreaming," directed by San Diego filmmaker Zack Mack, follows the band through the neighborhoods of San Diego, celebrating the places and communities that continue to shape Puerto's music.
