For more than two decades, The Sleepwalkers have been one of San Diego's defining Chicano roots-rock bands, blending the musical traditions of the borderlands with the spirit of American rock and roll. Now, more than twenty years after releasing their debut album Can't Stop Rockin', they return with Almas Perdidas, an eight-song collection that captures the sound of a band still evolving after 30 years together.

Released on Blind Owl Records, Almas Perdidas marks the label's first Rock en Español release, introducing one of Southern California's longest-running Chicano rock bands to a new generation of listeners.

Rooted in Chicano rock, roots rock, psychedelia, rockabilly, and cumbia, the album moves effortlessly between styles while remaining unmistakably The Sleepwalkers. Songs like "Lockochon" fuse traditional Chicano influences with the energy of punk rock, while "Chicana Mama Boogaloo" captures the unmistakable sound of Barrio Logan and Southern California border-town rock. Singing in Spanish with the cadence and swagger of classic American rock and roll, Johnny Valenzuela delivers every song with the distinctive voice that has become the band's signature.

Featuring standout guitar work from Ritchie Orduño, Almas Perdidas honors The Sleepwalkers' roots while embracing the diverse influences that have shaped the band throughout its career. It's an album built on decades of friendship, musicianship, and a deep connection to the cultural traditions that continue to inspire their music.

Throughout their career, The Sleepwalkers have shared stages with Poncho Sanchez, Son Rompe Pera, The Beat Farmers, Rosie Flores, The Paladins, and Ozomatli, while earning Best Americana honors at the San Diego Music Awards.
