Zander Schloss

Known for his decades-long career as bassist for the Circle Jerks, his role in the cult-classic films such as Repo Man and Straight to Hell, and collaborations with rock legend Joe Strummer, Zander Schloss has long been a shape-shifting musical force. After earning critical praise for his debut solo album Song About Songs—which music critic Chris Morris hails as “a long overdue look at an unheard side of his musical personality”—Schloss continued to step out of his comfort zone with his latest record, California’s Burning, a cinematic “sound painting” of striking depth.

A journey of 12-string acoustic meditations, rich harmonies, and psychedelic textures, the record is produced by Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey, Chris Cornell) and backed by an all-star ensemble. Vulnerable and immersive, Zander Schloss invites audiences to slow down and dive deep, showcasing his versatility as a powerful songwriter.
